Kinross, Scotland Where were you when Vienna became the nation’s favourite Number 2? 🎹
Ultravox never reached Number 1 with Vienna—but Britain certainly remembered it.
In 1981, Ultravox’s Vienna spent three straight weeks at UK Number 2—famously blocked by Joe Dolce’s Shaddup You Face. 🎹
It never reached Number 1, yet Vienna still finished as the year’s sixth-biggest-selling single. In 2012, BBC Radio 2 listeners named it the nation’s favourite Number 2 record.
