Local Fact of the Day: the bridge built twice 🌉
At Rumbling Bridge, an 1816 road bridge stands directly above an older stone bridge from 1723.

Rumbling Bridge hides a brilliant piece of Kinross-shire engineering: it is actually two bridges, one stacked above the other.
Historic Environment Scotland records the lower stone bridge as dating from 1723. In 1816, a second bridge was built immediately above it at a higher level—leaving the earlier arch visible underneath more than two centuries later. 🌉
