Gateside Memorial Hall · Community spotlight

Gateside Memorial Hall is a place residents can help shape as well as hire. Gateside and District Association has cared for the hall since 1946, and all Gateside residents are automatically members. Residents of the surrounding district are welcome at association meetings too; its contact form is a way to suggest matters for discussion. An easy way to meet neighbours is the First Friday Soup Lunch at Gateside Memorial Hall on Friday 6 November 2026, noon–2pm. The official calendar lists soup and bread with tea or coffee, plus cakes for sale. Adults pay £3, teenagers £1 and children under 12 attend free. Anyone struggling to get to the hall can contact a committee member to ask whether help is available. Planning your own gathering? The hall seats 80 and has a stage, kitchen and presentation equipment. Check availability and hire conditions before submitting a booking.
