Curious about a Kinross-shire family, building or place-name? Kinross (Marshall) Museum at Loch Leven Community Campus offers a starting point: its volunteers answer research enquiries and help develop the collections. Display cabinets are accessible during library opening, while the study room has separate hours—contact the museum before travelling for research help.
You can also contribute to the work behind the displays. The museum invites volunteers to help catalogue donated items, support enquiries, prepare exhibitions and join research projects. Visit to find out more or use the volunteer form on its website.
For a date in the diary, the museum’s published Kinross-shire Historical Society programme lists Miriam Kroll’s talk, The History of Wemyss Caves, on 16 November 2026 at 7.30pm, at Kinross Parish Church, Station Road, Kinross. Visitors are welcome, with £5 admission at the door. Check the programme for current arrangements.
