A familiar High Street landmark holds many individual stories. Kinross War Memorial’s wheel cross and plaques commemorate people from the town and parish, with records covering both world wars and the Indonesian Confrontation. The linked memorial register offers a starting point for anyone researching a name or learning more about the town’s remembrance.
Local people can take part in Remembrance Sunday on 8 November 2026. The parish’s published arrangements give a 10am town service at Kinross Church, 10 Station Road, followed by wreath laying at the war memorial by the County Buildings on High Street for 11am. There will be no further 11.15am service at Kinross Church that day. Check the parish notice for any updates before attending.
Outside organised commemorations, a respectful visit and a little time spent reading the names offer another way to engage with this part of Kinross’s history. Please leave the memorial and its surroundings undisturbed.
