Kinross-shire Volunteer Drivers · Community spotlight

Getting to an appointment can involve more than finding a lift. Kinross-shire Volunteer Drivers provides a door-to-door service, with assistance where needed, for residents of Kinross-shire and Glenfarg attending hospital, health-centre, dental and other health-related appointments. Journeys can extend beyond Tayside, including to Edinburgh or Stirling. To ask about a journey, call 01577 840196 or email administrator@kvd.org.uk. The administrators can explain the service and destination-based charges. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 9am–5.30pm, with an answerphone available outside those hours. Discuss the appointment location, assistance required and driver availability before making travel plans. The volunteers’ contribution has received wider recognition: the organisation records receiving Age Scotland’s Services for Older People award in October 2023. Local people interested in helping can contact the administrators to ask what support is currently needed.
