Look a little closer

History beneath
the clock face.

Historic Environment Scotland records the hall’s opening in 1855. Designed by Watt of Kinross, the building stands over the Back Burn at The Cross.

Its past includes public gatherings, accommodation for the local police constable and cells, since altered. The listing also records an eastward extension in 1897 and the hall’s decorated stage.

Outside, look for the pointed arches, stone detailing and three-stage Gothic Revival tower. Together they give this corner of Milnathort its unmistakable character.
