About Read & Relax
Read & Relax brings books and coffee together at 157 High Street. Sarah’s independent shop opened in November 2024, with books for adults and children and coffee from nearby Unorthodox Roasters.
There is a dedicated children’s book room, and the shop runs book clubs, author events and Storytime sessions. Browse the official website for current events and book-club availability. Dry, well-behaved dogs are welcome.
Looking for a particular book? Ask the shop about ordering it rather than relying only on the shelf selection. Read & Relax also has a dedicated children’s book room, author events and book groups. Enquire about space before joining a group, and contact the shop before bringing a large book donation so storage and suitability can be checked.

A closer look
From bookshop work to a shop of her own
Sarah’s route to Read & Relax included working in a bookshop as a teenager and volunteering at Oxfam’s Perth bookshop. Her own shop gives second-hand books another readership alongside new titles, with coffee supplied by neighbouring Unorthodox Roasters.
