A closer look
A family farm opened to local customers
The Larder’s family connection with Channel Farm reaches back to Arthur and Agnes Braid’s tenancy in 1934. After taking over the farm in 2002, the next generation wanted more of its vegetables enjoyed locally. Loch Leven’s Larder opened in 2005, adding a café and shop to the working-farm story.

Rooted in a family farm
The Larder’s own family story describes three generations farming at Channel of Pittendreich. The wish to share produce locally, alongside a need for a welcoming family destination, helped turn the idea for the Larder into a business.

From the family fields to the café table
The Larder grew from a farming family’s wish to let more local people enjoy the produce grown at Channel of Pittendreich. Opened in 2005, it connects the fields, foodhall, cafés and lochside setting in one place. The family’s farming connection goes back to Arthur and Agnes Braid’s tenancy in 1934.
